August and September have been a vibrant couple of months here at Hamptworth Golf Club, with plenty of highlights to celebrate. Here’s a round-up of some of the key moments from recent events:
Green Keepers Revenge – 18th August
Our Green Keepers Revenge event on August 18th saw an incredible turnout, with over 130 members taking on the unique challenges and obstacles devised by our dedicated greenkeeping team! Congratulations to the winning team of Adam Shipp, Barry Wilton, Dave Wilton, and Ryan Merrick, who scored an impressive 59.5. A big thank you to everyone who joined in the fun, and we can’t wait to see what next year’s event has in store.
South Hants League Season Concludes
September brought the close of our South Hants League campaign. While it was a challenging first season, we’re pleased to report that Hamptworth managed to avoid finishing at the bottom of the table. Special thanks to Mark for his dedication in keeping the team organised and motivated throughout. We’re looking forward to building on our experiences and coming back stronger next season!
Men’s Scratch Team – League Champions!
One of the season’s standout achievements was our Men’s Scratch Team’s thrilling performance, capturing the league title with a dramatic victory at Erlstoke in their final match. This win secured both the league championship and promotion to a higher league next season. A huge thank you to all the players for their commitment and hard work throughout the season; your efforts are truly appreciated!
Knighton Heath Trophy – Semi-Final Close Call
Although we were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Knighton Heath Trophy by Meon Valley Golf Club, we’re proud of the team’s effort. We’ll be back next season, aiming to push even further and bring home the trophy. Thank you to everyone who played and gave their all in the competition.
Acknowledging Team Efforts Across the Club
We’d also like to recognize everyone who participated in the Monty, the Ladies League, and the mixed friendly teams this season. Your enthusiasm and team spirit have been invaluable, and we’re excited to carry this momentum forward.
Upcoming Leagues – Windell & Senior Scratch Leagues
The Windell League and the Senior Scratch League, for players aged 55 and over, are just around the corner. If you’re interested in joining, please contact the Pro-shop for more information.
Looking Forward – Hardy A & Hardy B Leagues
In more exciting news, Hamptworth will be joining both the Hardy A and Hardy B Leagues next season. We’re thrilled for the opportunities and challenges this will bring and look forward to seeing our teams in action.
Pro-Am Event Cancelled Due to Weather
Unfortunately, our Pro-Am event was canceled this year due to poor weather conditions. We hope for clearer skies next season and are looking forward to welcoming everyone back.
